Propaganda of Self. How do we tell about us?

Blogger, Youtuber, Instagramer - who are they? Definitely those who are in to showing their private life in a very eye-catching way. People show their daily routine, clothes they buy, meal they eat, places they visit and all that stuff they decorate with photo filters, video effects and of course meaningful(or not) text. Those boring things became very engaging for us and we're really interested in someones life. We judge, we think, we love, we hate, we adore someone whom we met just in the screen of our phone or laptop. Sounds ridiculous and in some way silly, but this is modern society who loves shows and bothering in someones life.
Just in a few years presentation of personality in social media has increased to the level of disaster - no matter who you are and what do you do, show what makeup do you wear today and what posh juice did you just buy in the shop. Also, better add some photoshop or filters to your photo/video and you will get 21K followers. On the one side, for me it's annoying that someone is working really hard and gets nuts, while someones self propaganda reaches millions of pounds. On the other side, everyone earn money in different way, so there's no point of blaming people for their easy work.
Why is it popular to show yourself and do people really like to have their lovers and haters? Is it essential to show everyone how cool are your new "Balenciaga" sneakers if in real life you're living in a one room flat and cannot pay all the bills in time? Why pretending a wonderful life, why showing things you don't have? Jealousy? Inferiority? And even though we share again and again just to reach the level of something we don't need.
For me it's something mysterious, but I'm part of it... maybe everyone just need more attention? Maybe we need to talk to each other instead of hiding behind the black screen?
